26 November 2018: The Brink appears on ITV Granada
As part of Alcohol Awareness Week, ITV’s Granada spoke to Carl Bell, Manager of our community dry bar The Brink, located in central Liverpool.
Carl spoke of his own experiences as a recovering alcoholic as well as the role The Brink plays in supporting people addicted to alcohol and drugs in the local community.
The Brink is a lively café and dry bar providing a safe social space for those seeking help with addiction problems. It runs a pre-abstinence treatment programme, family groups and a range of different support sessions and opportunities for people looking to live a life free from addiction.
The report also covered other solutions to halt alcohol harm in the North West, including the campaign to bring in minimum unit pricing, and spoke to Manchester’s Metro Mayor Andy Burnham about what action can be taken at a local level.
