We have been helping people with addiction problems for over 30 years. Our clients are offered a well-structured residential treatment programme based on the 12-step abstinence based philosophy. Clients usually stay for 6 weeks during which time they go through a medicated detox and regular group therapy. We are looking for registered nurses with post registration experience. Knowledge of addictions isn't essential but an interest in substance misuse is. As a nurse, you will join our busy treatment team, working alongside counsellors and healthcare assistants. Your main duties will include: Admitting clients into treatment Administering medication Managing detoxification and observation of unwell clients Keeping accurate and timely client records Dealing with cases of self-harm and reporting risks Attending daily meetings and handing over information to other team members We are open to part-time and full-time (35 hours per week) with a flexible rota. The salary will be reflective of skills and experience rising to the top end of NHS Band 5. We have free parking, a subsidised canteen and a 7.5% non-contributory pension scheme. The Role We are looking for a talented individual to embed a risk management culture within and across the Charity and drive its revised integrated governance arrangements to ensure that all of its services continue to be safe, caring, well-led, effective and responsive, in line with the effective management of risk and CQC Regulations. This new role is an opportunity for an experienced individual to join Action on Addiction to be accountable for establishing and embedding a leading-edge governance framework , as well as lead on developing and maintaining the charity’s compliance framework and associated information management systems. Working in a small team, the post holder will also play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the charity’s safeguarding framework. About You You will be required to work as part of the senior team, using their professional expertise and practical knowledge to support and continue the process of transformation and continuous improvement to establish a culture of quality and safety throughout the organisation. You will be responsible for providing assurance to the leadership team on regulatory compliance. As a result, you will need to have a strong executive presence, with experience of working successfully with senior clinicians, professionals and leaders and servicing boards and committees. To be successful you will be able to demonstrate success in developing and delivering governance frameworks in a healthcare environment, including the CQC assessment framework, as well as experience of developing, creating and improving systems, structures and processes relevant to integrated governance. In terms of your personal attributes, you will have the ability to influence people and use your developed influencing skills to deliver success and will be focussed and passionate about continuous improvement.
