Registered Nurse

We are looking for registered nurses with post registration experience to join our innovative and effective nursing team. The work we do with a very diverse client group is both highly rewarding and transformative. Key duties include:

  • Admitting clients into treatment
  • Administering medication
  • Managing detoxification and observation of unwell clients
  • Keeping accurate and timely client records
  • Dealing with cases of self-harm and reporting risks
  • Attending daily meetings and handing over information to other team members
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Knowledge and previous experience of working with addictions is not essential – training will be provided.

Full and part time vacancies are available – with flexible rotas – as well as ‘bank’ arrangements.

Head of Service (Community Recovery)

Central Liverpool

Action on Addiction is looking for someone exceptional to lead our community addiction rehabilitation service in Liverpool.  This role will require you to:

  • Lead the delivery of Action on Addiction’s services in Liverpool and any additional grant-funded activities in accordance with the contract
  • Manage a budget of £1m+ pa but constantly seek to build substantial new business and pursue opportunities for growth
  • Lead a strong and highly effective team that delivers high quality community-based recovery services
  • Further develop and promote our Brink Café with a commercial approach, seeking to generate increased revenue
  • Be Action on Addiction’s ambassador in this region, developing new business opportunities and playing a key role in building the addiction recovery community
  • And importantly, deliver against agreed business objectives and performance targets year-on-year

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Can demonstrate operational leadership in a service-based multi-site, multi-dimensional context
  • Has commercial experience from working in roles such as operation/service manager or business development manager
  • Has experience of setting and managing budgets, as well as controlling contracts and resource planning
  • Is educated to degree level, preferably with a higher education qualification in management/leadership, service delivery and business administration

In terms of your personal attributes, you will:

  • Engender confidence in leadership with clients, customers, partners and staff
  • Ideally have a strong understanding of the way commissioner-provider systems and networks operate, particularly in the field of substance misuse and/or addiction recovery.
