It is harder today for people to get into treatment than it’s ever been, especially for those who do not have the ability to pay.
Your support has never been more important to Action on Addiction as we respond to the serious challenges facing people in the grip of addiction during the coronavirus pandemic and prepare for an escalation in demand when social distancing ends. Unlike coronavirus, addiction thrives on isolation and, as people throughout the UK stay home, individuals and families struggling with addiction need our help more than ever.
The problems associated with addiction were growing in both volume and complexity well before COVID 19. Individuals and families face numerous barriers to accessing the treatment and support they need. This situation has been exacerbated by the pandemic, especially for people who cannot obtain funding for treatment.
Our residential treatment centre Clouds House remains open to provide the same high standard of life saving addictions treatment during the Coronavirus outbreak that we have been offering our clients for almost 40 years. It is essential that we remain active during the COVID 19 crisis to provide lifesaving help for those who need it now, and to be ready for the surge in demand anticipated once the pandemic recedes.
More than ever before, the bursary funding made possible by your generous donations and extraordinary fundraising activities is needed so we can continue to help those who cannot access funding.
Please help us to save more lives by supporting Action on Addiction today.
The problems associated with addiction are getting worse. Society's capacity to deal with addiction is diminishing. It is increasingly difficult for people to access the treatment they need.
Family members attending M-PACT programmes reported multiple improvements in diverse areas of family functioning.
We treat all forms of addiction including alcohol, drugs (both prescribed and non-prescribed), gambling, sex and love, pornography, and some food related disorders.
