Our fundraisers are a vital part of the Action on Addiction family. Your donations mean we can continue to offer life-saving treatment to people in the grip of addiction.


There are lots of different ways you can raise money throughout the year, however there are three challenge events where we have places secured for Action on Addiction fundraisers each year.

Challenge events

Prudential RideLondon, 28-29 July 2018


One of the greatest festivals of cycling, the RideLondon-Surrey 100 receives over 80,000 applicants a year. Starting at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park the route goes through closed roads in the capital before reaching stunning the Surrey countryside.


Places for this event are now filled.

Swim Serpentine Super Six challenge, 22 September 2018


Take part in a one-day swimming festival in the heart of London by competing in the Super Six Swim Serpentine challenge - a six mile open water swim with only 60 competitors.

We have two places for experienced open water swimmers looking to take part in a very special event.

Royal Parks Half Marathon, 14 October 2018


This spectacular central London Half Marathon takes place in some of the capital's world-famous landmarks on closed roads and through four of London's eight Royal Parks - Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James's Park and Kensington Gardens.

Virgin Money London Marathon, 19 April 2019


We are now taking applications for the London Marathon 2019.


The popularity of the London Marathon means that hundreds of thousands of people will apply to run in the event with just 40,000 places available.


The public ballot has closed however you can secure your place to run the marathon by running for Action on Addiction. If you would like to take part then you can contact our fundraising team at [email protected].

Points to remember:

Gift aid: Action on Addiction is able to reclaim the tax you will have paid on your donations, increasing the value at no extra cost to you. If you are a UK taxpayer all you need to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration which is included on our sponsorship form. Further information about giving to charity in a tax-efficient way can be obtained on the HMRC website.
