This week, the Care Quality Commission published its latest report on Clouds House, which highlights:

  • Safe management of clients’ admission predicated on sufficient medical cover
  • Comprehensive and clear assessments of drug and alcohol use
  • Care plans which were found to be: person-centred; holistic; individualised; specific to clients’ needs; and regularly updated
  • Well thought through and carefully monitored use of patient group directions, based on reasonable and pragmatic criteria
  • Individualised care plans on discharge, evidencing the recovery focus of the service
  • Exit plans, signed off by the clients themselves.

In his response to the report, Graham Beech, Action on Addiction’s Chief Executive said: “We are very pleased with this latest report which reflects the team’s expertise, hard work and commitment throughout the year. Everyone at Clouds has fully embraced the regulatory changes we’ve put in place, and are genuinely committed to ensuring the treatment we offer is safe and effective and that clients feel well cared for and supported whilst in treatment”.
