Action on Addiction's patron, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, will launch the charity’s new community-based strategy, Clouds in the Community, at its new treatment centre in Wickford, Essex on Wednesday 7 February 2018.

The strategy will support Action on Addiction’s mission to reach more people in more places. It is based on the charity’s life-saving work at Clouds House which first opened its doors 35 years ago, and the remarkable outcomes which have been achieved at its Self-Help Addiction Recovery Programme (SHARP) in Essex. Independent evaluation of the programme, which is commissioned by Essex County Council, showed that less than 25% of clients returned to any treatment service upon completion of the scheme.

The Duchess will also open the charity's new treatment centre in Wickford, take part in a roundtable discussion on Clouds in the Community, as well as meeting Action on Addiction's staff, clients, partners and supporters.
