Carl Bell, manager of The Brink, Action on Addiction’s dry bar social enterprise in Liverpool, spoke to BBC Radio Merseyside this afternoon (21 August 2018) about when social drinking becomes ‘problem drinking’.

Speaking from his personal experience as a recovering alcoholic, and as manager of The Brink - which provides addiction treatment services and support alongside events, food and drink – Carl discussed how for many people alcohol doesn’t start as a problem but as a social event.

BBC Radio Merseyside spoke to Carl in response to Adrian Chiles’ new BBC documentary ‘Drinkers like me’, which will be aired next week.
