Action on Addiction’s revolutionary dry bar in the heart of Liverpool, The Brink, has been shortlisted for the Community Impact Award in this year’s Merseyside Independent Business Awards.

A social enterprise run by Action on Addiction, The Brink helps people achieve stable abstinence-based recovery and provides volunteering, training and employment opportunities as well as counselling, therapy and complementary activity sessions.

By taking alcohol out of the mix The Brink has created a welcoming and inclusive dry bar that makes recovery sustainable for people who have suffered from alcoholism or substance misuse.

The Brink is up against Tomorrow's Women Wirral, VIP Me, The Open Door Centre and First Ark in the Community Impact category, with the winners announced on Thursday 18 October 2018.
