10th Anniversary celebrations Action on Addiction held an event in the City of London to mark the first 10 years of the charity’s life-saving work. The event celebrated the lives of people who have been given the chance of recovery from addiction at the charity’s treatment centres over the last decade. Invited guests, including those who have generously supported Action on Addiction over the years, heard about the charity’s wide-ranging and far-reaching work and its ambition to reach even more people in more places in the future. John Lloyd, Chairman of Action on Addiction said: “I’m immensely proud of what this charity has achieved. When someone is in the grip of addiction, everyone and everything else is relegated to second place on the person’s list of priorities. However, with the right support people can overcome addiction.” He added: “Thousands of people have benefited from the work of our experts. For every person we help, another five people benefit indirectly as that individual moves from active addiction into recovery.” The guest speaker was Eddie Jones, the head coach of the England senior rugby team, and an auction was held to help the charity sustain and grow the quality and effectiveness of its programmes, as well as to continue to develop new treatment innovations. Booking for this event has now closed.
