By Ellen Lamer, relationship manager, Action on Addiction

We rely heavily on funding raised by our wonderful supporters – from major donors to corporate sponsorships and our committed – and often heroic – fundraisers.

We don’t obtain the majority of our funding from the government so without the support of our very generous supporters we simply wouldn’t be able to help as many people affected by addiction.

But not every fundraising effort needs to be large and heroic – the smallest donations and commitments by individuals are just as important.

Earlier this year we joined AmazonSmile, meaning our supporters can now raise money simply by shopping at Amazon.

When you visit AmazonSmile you can choose to support Action on Addiction before you start shopping, enabling us to receive donations from Amazon at no additional cost to us or you.

Amazon will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price of eligible products (excluding VAT, shipping fees, and returns) to Action on Addiction.

We’re also part of easyfundraising - the UK’s biggest charity shopping fundraising site. It’s simple to use, and it’s free. You can raise money for us while shopping with 3,300 retailers – including lastminute.com, booking.com, Thomas Cook, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Next, The RAC, Aviva and the major supermarkets – Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda and Tesco.

Anyone who signs up to AmazonSmile or easyfundraising will help us to reach out and offer more people the life-saving treatment they need in the face of this life-stopping condition. So what are you waiting for?
