'Swim into Action' September 2009
Make waves for Action on Addiction......
I am delighted to announce that we will be holding our ‘Swim into Action' event again in 2009, hosted by The CityPoint Club, in aid of Action on Addiction. A huge thank you toThe CityPoint Club www.thecitypointclub.co.uk who have kindly agreed to underwrite all the costs of the event so all proceeds will go directly to Action on Addiction.
96 swimmers of all ages and abilities will take to the pool on a Sunday between 10am and 6pm to swim a total of 30 lengths each. The race will take a relay format, with each swimmer completing two lengths followed by a break of six lengths before beginning again, making this event achievable for people of nearly any athletic ability. Each hour, four teams of four will take to the pool and compete against each other, swimming 120 lengths in the shortest time possible.
‘Swim into Action' will launch our 2009 Sport Against Addiction campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the positive effect that sport can have in helping people overcome or prevent addiction in an effective and healthy way.
