Our Treatment team

Your counsellor

You will be assigned your own focal counsellor. Assessment is a dynamic on-going process, so in addition to a thorough pre‑treatment assessment, your counsellor will take a detailed history during your first two weeks of treatment to enable us to create an individual treatment plan.

Your counsellor will work closely with your care manager (if you have one) to ensure that treatment plans are compatible with aims and issues outside of the treatment centre.

Medical consultant

The first phase of treatment involves a thorough examination by Clouds' House Medical Consultant. Because everyone is so different, each person's detox needs are individually assessed and prescribed.

Multi-disciplinary team

We have a multi-disciplinary team comprised of counsellors, nurses, a doctor and a psychiatrist that has a wide range of skills and knowledge to offer help and support throughout your stay. If, at any point during treatment, your physical and/or mental health requires closer monitoring or treatment, you may be moved to the Medical Observation Room situated opposite the Medical Centre.

This room is equipped to enable closer individual monitoring and treatment as the need arises. It is equipped for clinical treatment, and has disabled access en-suite facilities. If necessary you will be able to stay in the room overnight, and this will not affect your allocated bed in the treatment centre to which you will return as soon as you are well enough.

Our treatment team have the expertise to manage withdrawal from whatever drugs and/or alcohol a person may have been consuming. We do not wait for detoxification to be completed before involving patients in the psychological therapy.
