POLICY ON ACCEPTING REFERRALS
As a charity, we are keen to help as many people as possible and to avoid limiting access to treatment for those in need. For this reason, our treatment centres accept referrals from any source, including self-referral.
Admission to treatment is subject to assessment and the availability of funding that may be provided either by private payment, private medical insurance, state funding or from our own charitable funds. In the event that we conclude that the centre to which the patient has been referred is not the appropriate option, we will refer the person to a suitable alternative treatment provider.
To help ensure that a referral is based solely on the patient's best interests, Action on Addiction does not pay referrers to refer their patients/clients to our treatment centres.
