In October 2009 the Centre for Addiction Treatment Studies (CATS) Alumni Community was launched. The Alumni is a community whose members have graduated from either CATS or Clouds PETR and it is chaired by David Taylor BSc (Hons) Addictions Counselling 2008.
Members of the community are able to take advantage of great benefits, events and services provided by CATS and other related organisations, have chances to network with other alumni, and stay in touch with past fellow students.
Active membership will provide community members with a range of exclusive opportunities for professional development, social contact, recreational activities and financial savings.
Membership of the CATS Alumni Community is free of charge, so as a CATS alumna or alumnus you are welcome to join. Upon graduation, an electronic invitation will be sent which, upon acceptance, will enable alumni to use the links to find other community members, view their profiles, send messages (to the whole community or to a specific alumni) and access and browse information and photos. Furthermore, members will have the opportunity to contribute their own material to the site.
As the community and site grows, the more effective it is hoped it will become in helping alumni to stay in touch with CATS and each other, reminisce on their learning experiences, and provide an opportunity to share professional information and opportunities.
