At last a book for women golfers that tells them everything they really need to know about this challenging and wonderful game.

"Brilliant! The View from the Ladies Tees is both witty and wise; a ‘must read' for women golfers of all ages and stages."

Tania Bryer, TV Presenter

"Fascinating insight into the real world of golf; essential reading for every male golfer too!"

Denis Pugh, European Tour Coach, Sky Golf Guru and PGA Master Professional, The Wisley, Surrey

Peggy Strachan took up golf dreaming of sun-drenched golfing holidays with her husband but discovered that first she had to train him to stand still while she took her shots and not walk off the green before she had finished putting!

Even more challenging were the struggle to teach her middle-aged body the new moves required by the golf swing and the thorny problem of how to look her sexy best in golf clothes.

But The View from the Ladies Tees also tells of the author's growing love affair with this fascinating game, and of magical days spent on the links, the sort of days that make golf so addictive.

The book is full of amusing anecdotes and describes typical situations experienced by women golfers, along with helpful tips for handling all such occasions whether on the course or in the clubhouse.

Author Peggy Strachan took up golf at the age of 49 and has been either laughing or crying ever since.  Not naturally gifted athletically but absolutely passionate about the game, she has taken several hundred lessons, attended golf school four times, spent untold hours on the range and played on over 100 courses in five continents. She is a member of the Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club in Richmond and the Valderrama Golf Club in Sotogrande, Spain.

Strachan was born in New York City. A graduate of Harvard University, she was formerly a fashion designer in Paris, a farmer in Normandy, an investment banker in New York and then worked at Sotheby's in London, all of which makes her the perfect person to write objectively and with a fresh eye about what it is really like for a woman to take up golf in her later years!

For eleven years the author was a trustee of the UK charity Action on Addiction, and she will donate £1.00 to the charity for every book sold. Action on Addiction works to disarm addiction, through research, treatment, family support, education and training.
