Professional Residential Training
Following the 2008 Drug Strategy (HM Government) and the NTA guidelines on the importance of working with families and carers, this course offers training in:
- Evidence based practice
- Exploring theoretical models of working with children
- Involving families/carers in the treatment of the substance misuser
- Developing services to family members/carers in their own right
Programme
Lectures on topics such as family patterns, systemic theory, motivational interviewing and family meetings. Workshops to explore topics further and apply the theory to practice.
Professional development groups to gain awareness of personal and professional issues as they affect performance, effectiveness and personal well-being. There is also time for relaxation and to explore the grounds.
Accredited by the University of Bath.
