I joined Working Recovery after going through treatment, it has continued my structure in my life and enabled me to learn how to work with other people and accept other people, it has given me valuable skills and work skills for me to be able to work in the profession I have chosen.
If you are doing well in recovery but interested in developing your work based skills our Working Recovery project could really help you.
It offers you foundation training in wood-skills that can be developed as part of an National Vocation Qualification (NVQ) and our foundation in Creative Skills can lead to many art-based NVQs.
We can help provide you with related work placements and real employment experience in the local community, which will help you develop your key skills and employability.
We also give you the opportunity to develop other creative activities which provide you with the opportunity to access a foundation in printing and photography.
The programme is flexible which allows you to continue with your treatment, aftercare plans or other qualifications.
Some people access the programme for a 12-week period, many others work with us for a year.
During this time you are able to undertake qualifications, develop experience, establish self-employment and business in your own right. You could also enrol in the senior staff projects at the centre that promote access to employment within wood skills trades.
