M-PACT is shortlisted for another award
17 October 2012
M-PACT (Moving Parents and Children Together) has been successfully shortlisted down to the final four for the 2012 London Safeguarding Children Awards
Action on Addiction’s M-PACT (Moving Parents and Children Together) programme is one of four projects to reach the shortlist of the 2012 London Safeguarding Children Awards.
The London Safeguarding Children Awards celebrate best practice in London’s child protection services. Projects in four London boroughs have been shortlisted for the 2012 Awards, including the implementation of the M-PACT programme in Tower Hamlets.
The winner will be announced during the 2012 Safeguarding London’s Children Conference, taking place in Westminster on Monday 10 December.
M-PACT is an eight week intervention that takes a 'whole family' approach to tackling addiction, where different families come together once a week for group sessions. Children and parents work together and separately with four specially trained facilitators on a variety of activities and tasks. The M-PACT programme shows children of addicted parents that they are not alone and that their voice is important while strengthening family bonds and putting in place practical measures to avoid further harm.
