Working for Action on Addiction
We recruit a number of different roles for our centres in Wiltshire, London, Bournemouth and Liverpool. The information below is just a sample of some of the roles we have.
Addiction Counsellors
Our counsellors work with clients to help them find their way to recovery facilitating group and individual counselling sessions. We look for counsellors with a qualification in counselling and experience of working with clients with substance misuse problems.
Administrators
We have a variety of challenging administration roles throughout our projects. The work can include collecting and analysing information, producing statistics and handling correspondence as well as maintaining the national drug and alcohol database.
Head of Service
This role has overall responsibility for a given project. Heads of service are senior managers responsible for the smooth running of the service and managing a team.
Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
Nurses and healthcare assistants work with our clients going through detoxification while in residential treatment in Wiltshire, and are part of the multi-disciplinary team working alongside the counsellors. We also recruit nurses and healthcare assistants to our bank so if you are interested then contact the HR team using the contact details below.
Support Workers
Support workers guide clients through our structured day programme in our Bournemouth project. This role is ever changing, challenging but rewarding, so we seek out people who are adaptable but well organised.
Tutors
Our tutors teach degree courses in addictions counselling at our education centre in Warminster.
Our teams are made up of people with differing experiences of addiction – some are in recovery themselves or are close to someone in recovery, but equally others have no personal links to addiction but have made the decision to specialise in this field.
We pride ourselves on the quality of the training and development opportunities we provide to our employees in the specialist field of addiction treatment.
