Thank you to everyone who supported Action on Addiction's Sport Dinner on Thursday 24th March 2011, we all had a fantasic evening at the Grange St. Paul's Hotel. The night was filled with a beautiful three course meal, a Sports Parade, a heads and tails quiz and a Live and Silent Auction with fabulous prizes. Finally, we danced the night away with Mark Butcher's brilliant band!
We kicked off the evening with a Sports Parade which gave everyone the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our sporting celebs including Darren Gough, Andy Gomarsall, Ronnie Irani, Alex Corbisiero, Catherine Spencer, Wendy Sly, Peter Fleming and Tony Woodcock among others.

The Live and Silent Auction auctions were a great success and raised valuable funds for Action on Addiction. The exclusive prizes on offer included a holiday in Barbados, a flight of a lifetime with the Breitling Jet Team, a box at the Royal Albert Hall for the Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Gig, an Ashes shirt signed by the victorious England team and a cricketing masterclass with Ashes hero Chris Tremlett to name but a few.

The Pantomime Horse Derby - Thursday 24th June

Trinny and a Pantomime Horse DerbyRSA hosted the fabulous Pantomime Horse Derby at Goodwood Racecourse and this year Action on Addiction were one of the benefitting charities. RSA worked extremely hard to produce a fabulous event which raised an incredible £20,000 for Action on Addiction. Thank you to everyone at RSA, all the 'pantomime horses' and everyone who was involved in making this a fantastic day, we are extremely grateful for all your hard work.

It was certainly a sight to behold - 32 Pantomime Horses lining up, ready to race! The day kicked off with the 'best dressed' competition judged by Action on Addiction supporter Trinny Woodall, commenting on their outfits and TV Vet Joe Inglis, inspecting the horses health! Following this was the dressage, set to a variety of music, a particular highlight was Cheryl Foal dancing to 'Fight for this Love'! The day was lots of fun, filling the Goodwood stands with laughter.
A special mention should go to The 'Action on Addiction' Horse, finishing 3rd in 'The Derby', only to lose it in the final furlong!

St. James' Place Dinner 2010

Fulva and James CaanThank you to Fulva Giust of St James' Place Wealth Management who kindly hosted this delightful, intimate evening on Wednesday 26th May 2010 at Quaglinos to introduce her friends to Action on Addiction.

After dinner, Midge Ure, singer of Ultravox, and supporter of Action on Addiction,Midge Ure spoke about the key issues surrounding addiction and gave the guests an insight into the vital work the charity does. The guests also had the opportunity to meet Dragons Den favourite, James Caan.

The Angels Ball 2008

Angels Ball 2008 Lady Grey Teese resized for internet 2The Angels Ball 2008 took place on Wednesday 15th October and was a great success. The guests were treated to a delightful evening at Plaisterers Hall, which was beautifully highlighted by a ‘burlesque bazaar' theme. The Angels Against Addiction campaign aims to increase the public's understanding of addiction, by encouraging people to become guardian angels for their friends and family, to understand the causes and problems of addiction in order to offer help and support.

The Live and Silent Auctions were a roaring success, featuring a fabulous 7 night stay at tAngels 2008 tableshe majestic Atlantis Resort in Dubai, a magical sleepover at Hamleys, a skydiving experience with the Red Devils and a private ski lesson with 5-times Olympic skier Graham Bell, to name but a few.
The 350 high-profile guests at the 2008 Angels Ball went home happy with some fabulous prizes in their pockets along with the knowledge that the money raised went directly to helping people suffering from addiction.
Swimathon 2007

On Sunday 4th March 2007, 82 swimmers of all ages and abilities took to The Third Space pool to raise money for Action on Addiction.
The day started with a splash and each hour new swimmers took to the pool to swim 120 lengths in the fastest time possible. Celebrity guest swimmers Chris Evans and Richard Bacon took the plunge and joined in the spirit of the event in one of the many teams, who together raised a fabulous £116,000 for Action on Addiction.
Chris Evans hosted the prize giving ceremony the following evening at The Groucho Club, where victorious swimmers celebrated their success with some great prizes for fastest team and highest fundraisers.

Thank you to all the team captains and swimmers who worked so hard with their fundraising and for making the Swimathon such a great event. Thank you also to everyone who sponsored the swimmers, and enabled us to raise much needed funds for our vital research.
We would like to thank The Third Space for kindly agreeing to underwrite the costs of the event so that all proceeds go directly to Action on Addiction, The Groucho Club for hosting the prize giving, Zoggs for donating the goody bags and Pure California for providing refreshments.
Great North Run
A huge thank you to all Action on Addiction runners who took part in the Great North Run 2006. It was a fabulous event and great to hear how much everyone enjoyed the day.
Gypsy of Chelsea

Angelica Huston, Diane Von Furstenburg and Harvey Keitel were just some of the celebrities who gave their support to Gypsy of Chelsea when it arrived in New York on Monday the 12th of December 2005. Action on Addiction presented Gypsy of Chelsea for an exclusive Gala Performance at the legendary Studio 54, one of New York City's top theatre venues.
Gypsy of Chelsea's Gala Performance in 2004 at the Royal Court Theatre was a sell out performance that was attended by Elle Macpherson, Sienna Miller, HRH Prince Michael of Kent and Freddie Windsor.
Gypsy of Chelsea was a was a sell out performance raising £20,000 from ticket sales and donations.
An Exclusive Night of Football

An exclusive evening of football took place in London on 1st September 2005 at the Royal Academy of Arts. The event was a successful mixture of sports and entertainment attended by variety of celebrities from the worlds of sport, music and show business including Tamara Beckwith, Arsene Wenger and Tania Bryer. On the evening many wonderful items were auctioned including stunning images from The FIFA 100 Exhibition of David Beckham, Thierry Henry and PelĂ© as well as a dinner for 10 at 'The Collection' and a signed Chelsea shirt and football. The auction raised £20,000 for Action on Addiction.
Art Vespa: Modern Day Masterpieces up for Auction

Vespa, one of the world's most recognised symbols of style and design, collaborated with some of Britain's biggest and best-known contemporary artists to produce Art Vespa in aid of Action on Addiction.
Artists Gary Hume, Harland Miller, Simon Periton, Georgina Starr and Gavin Turk created their own unique interpretation of the Vespa using the new Vespa GT. These one-off bikes went under the hammer at a high profile auction conducted by top auctioneer Humphrey Butler on Tuesday 30th November at Sketch in London.
The auction was a great success for Action on Addiction raising over £20,000 to help prevent and treat drug, alcohol and nicotine addiction.
Art Vespa took place in 2000, 2001 and 2004.
