Our Training Centre
The Centre for Addiction Treatment Studies is based in Warminster at the Manor House Ash Walk BA12 8PY
. This spacious Grade II listed Georgian building has been converted and equipped to provide an excellent, comfortable learning environment.
Our centre has three classrooms with various layouts to suit different learning activities and we can also provide mini-conference facilities.
The Centre is well supplied with audio-visual equipment for interactive teaching purposes - including digital video cameras, audio recording equipment, VCRs and DVD players, LCD projectors and whiteboards.
Above: In our courses on Counselling Skills, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Therapy students create and critique DVD recordings of their skills practice.
There are 6 computer workstations with internet access for students' use, and a reprographics service, including photocopying and laser printing. There is wireless broadband available in the classroom and other study areas. There is a reference and lending library on-site with multiple copies of key texts, journals, periodicals and several hundred single copies of books which can be borrowed while you are in residence.
We have 15 rooms available with comfortable beds, wardrobes, desks and broadband internet access. These provide an excellent environment for private study. Some are available for sharing under some circumstances, and several have disabled access. Breakfast is served in the dining-room, and there is a large kitchen with several microwave ovens, fridges and storage to allow residents to do some self-catering in the evenings if they wish.
There is good rail access: Warminster station is a few minutes away by car. We can often arrange to pick arriving passengers up from the station: phone in advance to arrange this.
